Here is Ziggafouse (Sir Purrs-Alot) Ziggy who was born July 1994, and sadly died, at the age of 15 years on August 27, 2009.

Ziggafouse was one of the orginal "therapy animals" that started and was the "corner stone" to Animal-Assisted Therapy with Brutus, the Great Pyreenes dog and Muchka, the Blue Persian cat. Ziggy has he was fondly called, was a Seal-Point Himalyan cat, that's motto was "Don't Sweat the small stuff." Ziggy died peaceful and flew over the rainbow bridge after almost a year of chronic kidney failure. Kathryn ran IV peritoneal dialysis treatment 3x week with medication to keep Ziggy comfortable and enjoying Life. Ziggy worn many "hats" and was well known for his "devil's costume" at Halloween & his "Catasourus" dionosour outfit. Ziggy touched many people's hearts with the way he would "ziggy" fast across any tile floor. Ziggy was very kind and would "purr" loudly when he was near human beings, hence his name, "Sir Purrs-Alot".

Below is a photo of Ziggafouse, with his blue & yellow sweater....Ziggy was receiving kidney fluid challenges along with Pepcid, Prednisone, & Reglan for the GI distress.  Ziggy is relaxing after his treatment... Ziggy was always healthy, with no medical problems, and never cause any problems. It was only in October  of  2008, that Ziggy was diagnosed with "end stage kidney failure."

A very mannerly man, that Ziggafouse.   Ziggafouse came to Kathryn when he was a "kitten".  Ziggy was at a lady's home, trail park, where is was the last kitten, to be "sold" for money to help raise funds for her "sick" child with a heart condition...Ziggy a seal-point Himalyan kitten at the time, Kathryn adopted him, had to climb up a "big ladder" to get his food, as there were an overboundance of dogs, cats, and kids in the trailer that was "running wild."

Ziggafouse was proud to wear costumes for all occassions and was the last remaining triad of the "founding" therapy animals in Kathryn's private practice of Animal-Assisted Therapy in Counseling In The Country.  Ziggafouse was a trail blazer and set the path for all of the therapy animals that followed him.  Ziggy lived a "good life" at The Gress Mountain Ranch, in retirement for 15 years. Time went so fast with a special cat known as Ziggy.

Ziggafouse, "Ziggy" or his formal name: Sir Purrs-Alot will be sadly missed.  Ziggy was know for his "relaxed" demeanor and his beautiful marking and big blue eyes!   Ziggafouse, you were so wonderful and Ben and Kathryn and all the volunteers will Miss You!  Ziggy a peaceful soul, with a inviting attitude and purr that you could hear forever....May you rest in peace and Meow at Muchka for us!
