NOVEMBER 17th, 2011, is the 9th annual Spirit of Volulnteerism Awards Ceremony at ArtsQuest Center at SteelStacks, Bethlehem, Pa. at 5:30pm. Our Be an Angel, Sylvia Merkel and and a great group from Taminco, Inc. will be honored and celebrated as the Spirit of Volunteersim winners nominated from The Gress Mountain Ranch.

October 16th Open Gate Farm Tour PHOTOS IN EVENTS ALBUM
1-5pm. Volunteers needed:animal handlers, educational presenters, parking assistant, greeter, raffle, flea market, food - bake sale items and a photographer. Call Kathryn at 610-398-2122. 

We will be having Live Music by the band "Traction."  We are thrilled to have them at The Open Gate Farm Tour. The day will also, feature, Polish Ice, Food stands, Yard sale items, Donkey Cart Rides, Petting Zoo, Alpaca fleece & products,and baked goods.  All proceeds will be going toward, a Run-in Shed for all the animals in the south pasture.   Thanks, KG

October 1st Freemansburg Halloween Parade at 2:00pm. Located at 600 Monroe St, Freemansburg. Animal handlers needed to walk or escort the animals. Float decorators needed. Call Kathryn at 610-398-2122.

September 24th, Saturday, Paws in the Park-1-5pm. Volunteers needed to help with animal handling and educational presentation. Call Kathryn at 610-398-2122.

September 22nd The Day of Caring at The Gress Mountain Ranch.  September 22nd from 9am to 4pm. This is coordinated by The Volunteer Center of the Lehigh Valley and the United Way.

70 people from various work places are coming out to volunteer and give back to the animals and the ranch, in Orefield, Pa. Donations of foods, water, drinks, and items for the projects are needed.  Please call Kathryn at 610-398-2122, if you would like to donate some items.  We only have one week before our big day.  So, please call and donate and help our cause. The animals need your donations! July 2nd to present-Ryan Schnabel's Eagle Scout Project (replacing posts and rails for new fencing from top to bottom in the northern pasture at the ranch.) We are very proud of Ryan and gratefully appreciate him selecting TGMR.

June 5th 9:30am - until ?pm- Lutheran Church of the Holy Spirit in Emmaus. A presentation for the Sunday School children. TGMR shares with the children a little bit about the work of the ranch and we will have some animals too. Volunteers are needed for handling animals, loading and unloading, feeding and caring for the animals before and after the event. June 4th 2:00pm- 3:30pm St. Luke's Neighborhood Celebration, 417 N 7th St. Allentown. The Gress Mountain Ranch therapy animals will be providing a petting zoo at the event. Volunteers are needed for handling animals, loading and unloading, feeding and caring for the animals before and after the event. Call Kathryn at 610-398-2122 to sign up.

May 28, A Hairy Situation with Leonard Erdman (Shearing 123) from 11:30am to 4:00pm. Five alpacas, one llama and Cutie the Cashmere goat were sheared to remove their winter coats. 
 
May 11- Catasauqua High School Seniors - 9:00 - 12:00 Noon Senior Give Back Day. Experienced volunteers are needed to help Kathryn with the group. Please call 610-398-2122.

National Volunteer Week APRIL 10TH THRU APRIL 16TH, is about inspiring, recognizing and encouraging people to seek out imaginative ways to engage in their communities. It is our moment at The Gress Mountain Ranch to celebrate our volunteers.
Volunteer Appreciation Day At TGMR is- April 10 1:30: to 4:30 Stop by to visit your animals and have some refreshments!

April 2nd Ashbury Youth Ministry concert featuring 4 different bands ( and different sounds). Admittance to the concert is a non -perishable food item for the Allentown Rescue Mission. Please call Kathryn.
The youth group of Ashbury will also be selling food in the Wesley Center kitchen as a fundraiser for the Gress Ranch. We are asking for donations for as much of the food as possible to maximize the money that will be available for the ranch and the  animals.
