They were spotlight VOLUNTEERS FOR THE MONTH OF SEPTEMBER 2009. 

Mia and Dante

Here is Dante and Mia, taking Rocky, The Great Pyrenees dog for a walk, with friends, Casey &  Jared....Mia who is 10 yrs old, and Dante is only "6 yrs old", have done been a big help to Mr. & Mrs. Gress, in taking care of all the animals....Charlie, their dad, allows them to come over and "volunteer" often, several times in a week...These two children are very mannerly, polite, and "talk to the animals."   Dante and Mia, YOU'RE THE BEST!!!!!!

Meet Mia, a 10 year little lady, who came to The Gress Mountain Ranch, and has done some pretty "impressive" grown up volunteering experiences!  Mia, takes on many of the "adult" tasks, and is quick to learn the chores around the ranch...Mia is very caring and gentle to the animals, and has a "great memory" alerting Miss Kathryn to changes with the animals.  Mia, comes to the ranch, several times a week, usually with her little brother Dante, who helps out too!.  Mia, We are really "thankful" and appreciate all your hard work with the animals.. Mia, is also a "spokeswoman" for telling others about the "therapy animals" at the ranch...Those are some mighty big shoes that Mia has taken on, doing "multiple tasks", in giving good quality of care for the animals!   In the photo, you see Mia, walking Elle, our "retired" plow horse, trying to get her over to the pasture, but Elle, LOVES THE GRASS.  Thank you Mia!!!   GREAT JOB MIA!!!!!!

 
Aug. 29th 2009 written by Mia; We like helping Miss Kathryn will all the animals....Feeding Andrew, the turkeys & ducks, the piggies, and even cleaning up the piggy poopy. We are very glad there is a special place for people & animals at The Gress Mountain Ranch, in Orefield, Pa. Thanks for having us volunteer at young ages, 6 & 10years. We love all the animals, and you both treat us very "special." Thanks for having the ranch so we can come and help the animals & you!
