Darren was the SPOTLIGHT VOLUNTEER FOR
JULY 2008.
Our volunteer spotlight is shining on Darren
Still. Darren, came to The Gress Mountain Ranch, via "word of
mouth", from another volunteer, Chris Sell and craigslist. Daren
has "wings of caring", as Darren, is our "horse angel
and our rabbit angel." Darren, has been very generous with his 200lbs
of horse grain donations, donating "horse carrot & oat
treats", which all the equines just love! Darren, has donated
timothy hay and pellets for the rabbits, along with 30lbs of fresh carrots
and 50lbs of alpaca/llama grain. Darren comes directly from his work, to the
ranch, to feed and water the horses. Darren has a tremendous amount of
energy and gives 100% to every undertaking. Sundance, and all the
animals, really enjoy Darren's TLC!! I think, Sundance, (photo
below), might be Darren's favorite guy, however, Darren really enjoys all
the therapy animals at The Gress Mountain Ranch. We are so glad you're with
us!! Thanks for all you do for the animals at the ranch,
Darren...Darren, is always "thanking" Kathryn for having him over
to care for the animals! Darren, is TGMR's very own,
"animal angel."
here is another great photo of Darren Still,
(below) who is very gentle and easy going with the animals, especially the
horses...Darren, talks to them, and feeds them, patiently while their eat their
grain. Darren, has a warm inviting approach with the animals, and likes
his "up close" encounters with the horses. Here Darren, is
pictured with Elle, the retired plow horse, as she eats her supper.
Darren, your positive energy is contagious and heartfelt. Ben &
Kathryn really enjoy Darren's time and help at the ranch immensely.

Bio written by Darren;
I'm 40, live in North Whitehall and have 2 boys
part time. I repair heating & air conditioning systems for a
living and I love nature and animals. I found your story in the Parkland
Press weeks ago, checked out your website and began visiting. I like all
of your animals, but mostly enjoy your horses. Before yours, I have
had no experience with them. I am thankful that you invite me
over, and feel privileged to help donate with feeds.
I am looking forward to seeing you 'guys' this
week. Thanks Darren
