Mason was featured as SPOTLIGHT VOLUNTEER FOR THE MONTH OF July 2007.
Mason Castro is our junior volunteer of the month! Here is a great photo of Mason helping training Jo Jo and Cecely, the donkeys to do wagon rides as a team. Meet Mason, a 16 year old 10th grade student at Freedom High, in Bethlehem, Pa. Mason's likes the animals at Gress Mountain, as "they are very exciting to work with", the two goats, Randy & Rascal are the most exciting animals, says, Mason. Mason is a new junior volunteer, very hard working, and does enjoy working with the animals: although, Mason's favorite is Jo Jo, the miniature Mediterranean donkey. We are very happy to have Mason from his school for a win-win situation helping at the ranch. Mason, has helped with ground maintenance, helping to maintain a clean safe ranch, feeding the animals, and general work in the barns. On behalf of Ben & Kathryn Gress, and all the animals at the ranch, we "thank you" Mason.

Here is Mason, at work again, cleaning out the Jo Jo's donkey's hooves. Mason wants to be an oceanographer, and he is getting some great working experience with The Gress Mountain Ranch's animals!
